Lee County-- A Smithville mother is in trouble for placing her teenage daughter in leg irons.
46-year-old Sandra McGrady was indicted on child cruelty charges by a Lee County Grand Jury. Investigators say in March, McGrady kept her then 16-year-old daughter in leg irons overnight.
According to the indictment, Department of Juvenile Justice employee, 38-year-old Cassandra Scott of Leesburg, gave McGrady permission to do so. Scott was also indicted on one count child cruelty.
