October 29, 2003

Albany- The Darton College Lady Cavaliers will open their season this Saturday night at home.

Unfortunately, the Lady Cavs will not be playing in their new home.

Construction on the new health and physical education center is complete the cleanup from all that building has just started.

And with Darton wanting the new Cavalier arena to look its best when they open it to the public so the Lady Cavaliers will play their first game in the old gym.

Head coach Laura Blackwell will have a new team this season with 10 freshmen on her roster.

She and her players are looking forward to the future of the Darton women's program with their new arena.

Coach Blackwell said "It does matter where you play but at the same time they are excited to play that first game and whether we are in our old gym as we call it now or getting on that new floor, the girls have been in to see the new floor and they are really excited about it."

Darton will open the season against North Florida Saturday night at 6:15 p.m..

The Lady Cavaliers are hoping to play their first game in the new Cavalier arena at the Darton Classic on November 7th and 8th.
