Albany -- Unclaimed bicycles may become a Christmas Present for people in need again this year.

Albany Police have about 150 bicycles that they will give to non-profit groups to be distributed to people in need. Lt. Hosea Miller of the Albany Police Department said "We get a big response every year from the churches that want to be involved. We're pleased to know that we can help some needy child."

They started the bike giveaway in 1998. If you have lost a bike, bring documentation of ownership to the Police Department to claim it.

Non-profit organizations have until December First to apply to receive some of the bikes, to be given to those in need.
