Sumter County - The babysitter of the Americus infant who died Saturday has temporarily lost custody of her own child.
Eight-month-old Haley Bone was rushed to the hospital after she started having breathing problems last Thursday at the babysitter's house. Investigators say it appears she died of shaken baby syndrome.
While police have not charged anyone, the Department of Family and Children's Services has removed the babysitter's own six-month-old child from her home. The child is now staying with grandparents.
The babysitter has hired Americus attorney Bill Murray. He says, "There's no proof of whatsoever, not even the slightest proof, that anything happened in her home that would have caused this child to suffer these problems."
Investigators want to talk with doctors to make sure the baby's pre-existing heart condition wasn't a factor in her death.
