Valdosta--Valdosta State sophomore Barrett Wilkes is the Gulf South Conference offensive player of the week. Wilkes earns the honor after throwing for 456 yards and five touchdowns in a 58-13 win over West Alabama Saturday.
Those numbers are not only career highs for Wilkes, but also season highs for a quarterback in the Gulf South Conference. It's the third time this year the sophomore from Valdosta has earned the honor.
Top ranked Valdosta State will host fourth ranked North Alabama Saturday at 1pm at Valdosta's Bazemore-Hyder Stadium.
