Bainbridge's Butler wins ACC honors

October 27, 2003

Atlanta-Former Bainbridge High standout James Butler is this week's defensive back of the week in the Atlantic Coast Conference for his play in Georgia Tech's 7-3 win over Maryland last Thursday.

Butler intercepted two passes against the Terrapins and now leads the ACC with 5 interceptions.

Butler is also one of three Georgia Tech athletes who are honored by the school as the Wendy's student athlete of the week.

Linebacker Keyaron Fox is the ACC defensive lineman of the week after he recorded 15 tackles against Maryland.

Fox made the play of the game when he sacked quarterback Joel Statham and forcing him to fumble the football.

Georgia Tech's Jonathan Cox recovered the fumble which led to the Yellow Jackets only score of the game.

The Yellow Jackets, 5-3 on the season and 3-2, play again on November 8th at Duke.

The game at Wallace Wade Stadium will start at 1:00 p.m. and will not be televised.
