Saturday, the nation's largest day of volunteering kicked off with a walk to save lives here in Albany. More then four hundred walkers and runners crowded Darton college's campus to raise money for the American Heart Association.
Heart disease is the number one killer in America. Many of the participants are heart disease survivors. For them, the day was not only a day to show support but to give thanks. "Both my husband and I have heart diease and have had heart surgery" said Anita Moody. "Our daughter works at Phoebe in Cardiac research she is the wellness coordinator. She has been very supportive and instrumental in us getting involved and taking better care of ourselves.
