Lowndes County - A South Georgia drug agent has been fired after testing positive for cocaine.
Lowndes County Deputy Daryl Tarver failed a random drug test earlier this week. Sheriff Ashley Paulk says his suspicions were confirmed.
"It's very unfortunate, and embarrassment to the department, but we're not going to tolerate it," said Paulk. "I can't imagine why someone would do that, especially someone who works with drugs and sees what it can do to people."
Tarver had worked for the Lowndes County Sheriff's Department for 12 years.
