Candlelight vigil held in Thomasville

October 23, 2003

Thomasville - So far this year 64 people have died in domestic violence incidents in Georgia. The Halcyon Home, a home for women and children who have been abused, is holding a silent walk and a candlelight vigil for the victims.

Director Chris Marsh says, "If everyone in the community would open their minds that domestic violence doesn't discriminate it affects everyone, it would open doors for the victims to get help."

The silent walk begins at 6:30 at the Big Oak, and the candlelight vigil will follow.
