Health care expanding to Southeast Dougherty County

October 22, 2003

Dougherty County - Phoebe Putney Hospital wants to spread its arms a little more, by opening a clinic in Southeast Albany. But this is not a normal walk in clinic.

The hospital wants to rezone this land on U.S. 19 South to build an occupational health center to serve businesses across South Georgia. The clinic would offer pre-employment physicals and drug screens. And, rehabilitate people hurt on the job.

County commissioners must agree to rezone the 30-acre plot owned by Cecil Musgrove before Phoebe Putney can build the 20,000 square foot clinic.
