Albany - The legal wrangling over Albany's voting districts continues. A new voting map is now on the table.
The State Legislative Reapportionment Office drew up and submitted a map to the Federal Court on behalf of William Wright, who sued the city for using districts that dilute minority voting strength, and Mayoral Candidate Dr. Willie Adams.
It shifts the population of black voters. All, but Ward 5, would be predominately black districts. Tuesday night, Commissioner Bob Langstaff said city commissioners want at few weeks to look over the proposed map and maybe bring forward another map.
Federal Judge Louis Sands will make the final decision on the map and on the date for the election.
