Rested and ready

October 20, 2003

Albany--After a week off, the Albany State Golden Rams are rested and ready to go for Saturday's game at Clark Atlanta. ASU is riding a three game win streak into the matchup and hoping to take advantage of a Panther team that has yet to win a game this year.

Head coach Mike White and the Rams will be brushing up on stopping the option this week in practice, as they get set to face a very run oriented Clark Atlanta team.

And although the Panthers have yet to post a 'W', the Rams are not taking anyone lightly as the goal of a conference championship is still well within reach.

The Rams are currently tied for second in the conference standings behind Kentucky State. White says, with that in mind, Saturday's game is virtually a must win.

"They have a good rushing offense and we have a good rushing defense so I think that's going to tell a lot in this game. But we need to win and we're going to work hard this week to prepare for them," White said.

Albany State and Clark Atlanta will kick off at 1:30 this Saturday in Atlanta.
