(Boone, North Carolina-AP) -- Davon Fowlkes had a fifteen-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter for the go-ahead score as Appalachian State knocked off Georgia Southern today, twenty-eight-to-twenty-one.
Corey Lynch intercepted a Trey Hunter pass and returned it twenty-eight yards to the Georgia Southern fifteen to set up the game-winner. Georgia Southern, who dropped to four-and-three and two-and-two in the Southern Conference, outgained Appalachian State 405 yards to 244, but turned the ball over four times.
Quarterback Trey Hunter rushed for 107 yards for the Eagles and Jermaine Austin added another ninety-four on the ground.
