Ashburn- Turner County head football coach Lee Hamner will not be on the sidelines this Friday night.
The Turner County Board of Education voted unanimously Monday night to suspend Hamner for five school days.
Turner County School Superintendent Ray Jordan says Hamner was suspended over an incident that took place at last week's game at Terrell County.
Several parents of children in the Turner County High School band told school board members last night that Hamner had used inappropriate language towards the band during the game.
Hamner will attend Tuesday's practice along with Turner County High School principal Craig Matthews where Hamner will assign a member of his staff to serve as head coach for Friday's game against undefeated Randolph-Clay.
Coach Hamner will also write a letter of apology to the band and will to return from his suspension next Tuesday.
