SPLOST funds pave Lowndes roads

October 10, 2003

Lowndes County - Tax payer money is providing more convenient travel.

After more than 10 years on the paving list, construction is set to begin next week on Dasher-Johnson Road. The project will cost about 1.5 million dollars and is completely funded by the county's Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.

The paving should be finished in about a year. This is the first project paid for with the 2003 SPLOST funds.
