Valdosta - South Georgia parents took time out of their busy mornings to walk their children to school.
Wednesday was international Walk Your Child to School Day. The event is designed to teach children and parents the importance of pedestrian safety, and promote quality family time.
"We want the parents to know where their kids are walking, what they might need to avoid, and also provide some time for them to spend together," said Ronnie Mathis, Governor's Office of Highway Safety.
Parents were also encouraged to teach children the importance of seat belt and A-T-V safety.
