Valdosta- Valdosta State quarterback Barrett Wilkes has been named the Gulf South Conference's offensive player of the week for a second time this season.
The sophomore from Lowndes High in Valdosta threw for more than 300 yards and four touchdowns in the Blazers 42-21 victory over Ouachita Baptist Saturday.
Valdosta State, ranked second or first in every national division two poll, goes back on the road to play at Arkansas Monticello at 3:00 p.m. Saturday.
Valdosta State and North Alabama are the only unbeaten teams left in the conference with 5-0 overall records and 3-0 in the Gulf South Conference.
