Sale City woman dies in single car accident

October 3, 2003

MITCHELL COUNTY - Elizabeth 'Liz' Collins, 49, of  Sale City was killed this afternoon when she lost control of her truck in a single-vehicle crash.

Collins was traveling east on Mount Zion road near Camilla Friday afternoon around 1:00p.m. when the wreck occured.  A passenger, 28-year-old Jennifer Woods, also of Sale City, told State Troopers Collins was counting money and ran off the road.

The 1964 Ford F-150 she was driving hit an embankment, flipped two-and-a-half times, and came to rest on the opposite side of the road, according to traffic reports.

The Georgia State Patrol could not tell us much about the accident.  It is unclear if either passenger was wearing their seatbelt, if Collins died on impact or where Woods was taken for treatment.

More information as it becomes available.
