West Nile still threat in Fall

    Ravi Mikel Givens was arrested Tuesday and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He is being held in the Dougherty County jail. Givens, who played ball at Westover and Stetson
    Agents say that police responded to the apartment because of a burglar alarm. Officers found the back door broken open and went inside. That's where they detected a strong odor of marijuana, and saw pot in plain view.

Tifton- In the past two weeks, three humans cases of West Nile have been confirmed in South Georgia.

Pathologists say just because we don't see as many mosquitos, you shouldn't take the threat of West Nile lightly.

"We shouldn't forget how important West Nile virus is and how dangerous it can be, and even with the cooler weather mosquitos are still out and we need to prevent their breeding and biting of humans," says pathologist, Jessica Leider.

Health professionals are still waiting on lab verification of two additional cases, one in Tift County and another in Ben Hill.
