Worth County-- The crash happened Thursday evening on the Worth-Mitchell County line, when the cars collided after one of the drivers tried to pass the other on a two-lane road.

Twelve-year-old Kristen Davenport of Albany died in the back seat. She was still wearing her seatbelt.

Her mother, Masami and her brother, ten year Nicholas, were taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. They are in fair condition.

Troopers say 21-year-old Darren Smith of Tallahassee, Florida, was driving south in a Red Mustang when he attempted to pass a car on a hill. He hit the Davenport's car in the northbound lane head on.

Smith was taken to the hospital. Everyone involved in the crash was wearing their seatbelt.
