Rams wary of Tigers after coaching change

September 30, 2003

Albany- You would think that the Albany State Rams are catching Savannah State at the perfect time.

The 0-5 Tigers fired their head coach just six days before Albany State and Savannah State do battle in the sixth annual Music City Classic in Macon.

Albany State head coach Mike White says the Savannah State coaching change is going to cause all kinds of problems in preparing the Golden Ram defense.

That's because Savannah State assistant coach Richard Basil is now the head coach and Mike White believes that Basil, a former quarterback at Savannah State, will have a few surprises in store for his defense.

White said "With the coaching changes they might have some different plays or some different things they might try against us this week. We have to be ready for whatever."

Albany State has won 12 straight against Savannah State.

The Golden Rams go for win number 13 Saturday afternoon at four o'clock in Macon.
