(Orlando-AP) -- Donnell Harvey has helped one basketball team in Florida reach the championship level and thinks he can do the same with the Orlando Magic.
Harvey made his name at the University of Florida.
He made his debut as a member of the Magic today, a day after signing a one-year contract.
He was part of the Gators' team that reached the NCAA title game against Michigan State in 2000.
Harvey says his hustle, determination, defense and rebounding are things The Magic could use.
Those qualities are what general manager John Gabriel wants from Harvey.
Originally selected 22nd overall in the 2000 draft by New York, the former Randolph-Clay star played in 142 games with Dallas and Denver.
Harvey was a free agent this summer after spending the last year and a half in Denver.
