Valdosta - A reputed gang leader, who was acquitted for murder last month, is now charged with shooting another man.

Twenty-three year old Gerald Dewayne Byron is charged with aggravated assault for shooting twenty-five year old Andrew Crudup Monday morning. Crudup says he was riding with Byron and three other men down Jaycee Shack road when they demanded he get out and shot him in the face. Surprisingly, he wasn't seriously injured.

Police say Byron was one of the main leaders in the Valdosta-based "Folk" gang. Last month, he was acquitted of murder charges in the death of Charlie Gamble. Police say that was also a gang related incident.
