Cleveland,MS.--Valdosta State sophomore quarterback Barrett Wilkes threw for two touchdowns and Aaron Jenkins scored two more as Valdosta State (3-0, 1-0) topped Delta State 28-17 tonight in Gulf South Conference play.
The win gives VSU 30 consecutive regular season victories and 24 straight conference wins. It was also the Blazers third straight win over the Statesmen.
Valdosta State took the lead for good in the third quarter on Wilkes' 22 yard touchdown pass to Tyrone Jordan to put VSU up 21-14.
Valdosta State travels to Southern Arkansas next Saturday.
