Americus- Two people who police say holed up in a hotel room on a six-day drug binge, are in jail tonight.
Look at this video investigators shot inside the Americus Ramada Inn, they found syringes and blood throughout the room. Last night, the Americus-Sumter County Drug Task Force got a tip that two people were using and selling drugs out of the Ramada Inn and Days Inn in Americus.
Agents staked out the area and arrested 44-year old Earnest Weaver when he passed out in his truck. They later arrested his girlfriend, 23-year-old Christy Ann Phillips.
"Looking into others who may be involved in trafficking of drugs as well as using," said Sumter County Sheriff Robert Ingle. "We're pursuing many different routes and there is a possibility that others may be involved and will be arrested as a result of the investigation."
Investigators think Weaver and Phillips have been coming to Americus motels from Ellaville for nine months to use and sell drugs.
