Albany - Nathaniel Davis says he received a check for $3,000 from the city of Albany.

He cashed the check back in June... but on Thursday, he was arrested and spent six hours in jail for theft of lost and mislaid property.

The city says they accidentally sent the check to the wrong man... but Davis says that's not his fault. The check was meant for city attorney Nathan Davis but was sent to Nathaniel Davis' address.
