Hahira - Plans are underway for a new skate park and recreation center in Lowndes County.

The 20,000 square foot recreational facility will be build in the Hahira business park. It will feature several skate ramps, baseball and multi-purpose fields, tennis courts, walking tracks, and a lake.

But Parks and Recreation officials want community input before the plans are finalized.

"We think we've got a great plan, but someone might have ideas that we haven't thought of," said Brockey Brock. "We want ideas from children, adults, and anyone who is interested in the recreation center."

Citizens can share their ideas on the park plans at the Lowndes County Commissioners Meeting, Wednesday night at 6:30 at the County Administration Building.
