Valdosta - A new road extension means safer travel for South Georgia motorists.

Woodrow Wilson Drive in Valdosta has been extended from Mimosa Street to Bemiss Road. The project also includes the addition of three new traffic signals. City engineers say this will relieve traffic congestion in the area.

"This is a high traffic area, especially along Bemiss and Northside, so hopefully this will alleviate much of the congestion and traffic jams we've had in the past," said Von Shipman, City Engineer.

The project costs $500,000.00 and was jointly funded by the city and the Department of Transportation.
