Albany- Members of five area United Methodist Churches along with the Albany Hispanic Ministry of the United Methodist Church have created the Love thy Neighbor, Incorporated outreach center.
Volunteers will be on staff every Saturday to distribute food and clothing to needy families. The center will also offer nutrition and literacy education.
"Sometimes people come here especially Hispanics, and they come to another culture, another language, and this is a way that we can provide for them when they come and they don't have clothes or food and they can come and experience God first-hand," says Isaac Salgado of the Albany Hispanic Ministry of the United Methodist Church.
Program directors are hoping to involve more churches and other denominations in the outreach center.
Love thy neighbor is located at 109 South Walnut Street in Albany.
