Valdostans remember September 11th

September 11, 2003

Valdosta - September 11 was proclaimed the "Day of Remembrance."

People remembered the victims of September 11th at a memorial service on the lawn of city hall annex. A flag was raised that flew over the Pentagon in honor of Moody Air Force Base.

Mayor James Rainwater encouraged the crowd to pray for our military serving in the war on terror, and trust the president's decisions. "Our president will do all that it takes to bring the people responsible for these tragic events to justice," said Rainwater.

Nine church bells, followed by 11 more bells rang at 8:46, the time the plane hit the first tower.
