Tifton - The Tifton Fire Department is helping to keep you safe from fires.

The Department is giving out free smoke detectors to people who need one in their home. They will even help you install them if you need assistance.

Chief Mike Flippo says the goal is to make sure every home has the protection of a smoke alarm.

The Department recently received a $1,000 donation from the Tift County Sheriff's Department to help purchase more smoke alarms.
