Valdosta- Valdosta State quarterback Barrett Wilkes is the offensive player of the week in the Gulf South Conference.
The sophomore out of Lowndes High completed 35-49 passes for 381 yards and four touchdowns in Valdosta State's 45-7 win over a Florida Atlantic team that was ranked 24th in last week's 1-AA poll and and beat the same Middle Tennessee State in their season opener.
Valdosta State, ranked second in the nation in division two, has now won 29 straight regular season games.
The Blazers will take this week off before opening conference play on September 20th at Delta State.
