Atkinson County - A South Georgia woman is charged in a deadly car wreck.

Thirty-four year old Lea Ann Bowen of Willacoochee was driving her Pontiac Grand Am down Highway 135 in Atkinson County Saturday when she lost control and struck a tree. Seven-year-old Kayla Smith was killed and five other children were injured.

Bowen is charged with vehicular homicide, driving under the influence of prescription drugs, endangering a child, failure to maintain a lane, and several seat belt violations.
