Albany- The Labor Day holiday is all about enjoying the day away from school and spending it at Chehaw Park for many kids, but Monday parents also took advantage of the work free day.
"We're just bringing the kids out to have fun. It's kind of hot, but we're off of work," says Adam Clanton.
Across the park, Roy Hall and his brothers are slaving over flaming hot charcoals.
"We prepare for this every year so we're glad to do it," he says. "We've got a variety, ribs, pork ribs, beef ribs, chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers," lists Hall's brother, Roger Davis.
The men arrived even before the gates opened, and with five grills and all the meat you can eat they prepared enough food for 70 family members. For the past 8 years Labor Day has been almost like their family reunion.
"During the year most of us are so busy we hardly get a chance to see each other until this time of year," adds Davis.
Whether its preparing a barbecue feast or just hanging out at the playground, South Georgians agree Labor Day is all about family.
There was one thing that South Georgians didn't enjoy about their Labor Day holiday... having to go back to work or school Tuesday.
