Lowndes County - The sixth annual Lowndes County Day of Caring campaign kicks off in a wild way today.

More than 600 children got a trip to Wild Adventures. The children were paired with adult mentors for a day of one on one attention.

"They paired up with people from the community. Businesses have let their employees volunteer today and have the day off to spend the day with the child. For 1 on 1 time. Just having fun," said Nicole Holder.

The United Way raises money for twenty five local agencies. They hope to raise more than 1.4 million dollars between now and December.
