Tifton-President Mike Vollmer held a news conference from the roof of Baldwin Library today with the view of the $32 million ABAC Place apartments construction site behind him.

"We look at this 14 acres of 835 units as really being the core of ABAC in the years to come. This is where students will have their activities, this is where students will live and hopefully learn," says Vollmer.

Each unit will have a kitchen, living room, internet, cable and access to a fitness center and computer lab. Vollmer says students living in the apartments will be chosen by lottery.

ABAC Place is scheduled to open for the spring semester.
