Valdosta - A South Georgia city is adorned in red, white, and blue. It's salute to military week and Valdosta businesses are decorating their stores with patriotic themes to say thank you.

Inside Farmer's Furniture, its stars and stripes city. "We've mostly got lots of flags so far but we're working on a big thank you sign in the front window," said Tim Carroll, Manager.

Employees are decorating the store for Salute to Military Week. Manager Tim Carroll says it's the least he can do to tell U.S. troops thank you. "These folks are going over there in harm's way and thousands have been killed," said Carroll. "This is our way of telling them we appreciate what they do."

In addition to decorating their businesses, some stores around town, like Farmer's, are offering military discounts. "We're giving them a sales tax discount and also 12 month interest free financing," said Carroll.

Carroll says this week is just small part of the constant salute the community gives to Moody. "There's no other community like Valdosta and Lowndes County that supports their military base this much," said Carroll.

And even though its a small repayment for their many sacrifices, he hopes when military personnel see stores like his, they'll know how grateful we are.
