Albany - Traffic was slowed for hours on Slappey Boulevard today when a City Bus crashed and sprang a fuel leak.

The bus driver was making a left onto Slappey from Whispering Pines when the driver of a Mercury Sable ran a red light and slammed into the bus. The bus began leaking diesel fuel and the haz-mat team worked to clean up the fuel before allowing traffic to resume.

Sergeant Bell with the Albany Police Department says, "It appears that the white sable ran a red light and ran into the bus and now we have a diesel leak from the transit bus."

Neither of the drivers or bus passengers were injured. The Driver of the sable is being charged with running a red light.
