Albany-- If you plan to bank at a SouthTrust Bank in Georgia, better take off your hat and sunglasses at the door. It's a new policy designed to stop bank robbers in their tracks.
Bank robberies are on the rise in the South, and Birmingham-based bank thinks the policy will be a good deterrent.
"In our police bankers board meetings, we do advise bankers to be aware of persons coming inside the bank and the style of clothes they have on," said APD Lt. Kenn Singleton. "If it's really hot outside and a person comes inside with a long coat, a trench coat. So yes that would be a deterent."
