Valdosta - Police are looking for a man who robbed a convenience store and assaulted the clerk.

The man entered the Enmark Service Station on Patterson Street around 11:30 Tuesday night. He grabbed the clerk around the neck and forced her to give him a large sum of cash from the register. He also demanded the keys to her vehicle, but when she refused, he fled the store on foot.

"The individual we're looking for is a white male, about five foot nine inches tall," said Sgt. Steve Owens. "We think we know who this person is and will hopefully have him in custody soon."

The suspect was wearing an orange shirt and military style pants.

The clerk wasn't injured.
