Thomasville Police are looking for two men who attempted to rob a store, scaring customers and clerks.
(Fayetteville-AP) -- Hundreds of parents in Fayette County say school system officials are risking children's safety by cutting back bus routes to save money.
Superintendent John DeCotis says the system redrew its bus routes over the summer after state transportation funds were cut at the same time two news schools opened. Most routes within a half-mile radius of a school were eliminated. Stops were moved farther apar
t. DeCotis says several buses that used to drive through subdivisions to pick up children now stop at the main entrances along state highways and thoroughfares.
About 35 parents met last night in a subdivision in Peachtree City. They are urging others to complain directly to the school board when it meets at 7 pm Monday. Parents learned about the changes last week.
They have bombarded the school system office with phone calls, e-mails and visits.
