Lowndes County - A Florida man is arrested for posing as a potential home buyer and robbing real estate agents.

Thirty-seven year old Richard Allen Pate of Palm Coast Florida is behind bars in Flagler County, Florida. He's accused of meeting with several real estate agents at vacant homes in Georgia and Florida, tying them up with duct tape and robbing them of jewelry, cash, and ATM cards.

One of his victims was a Remax real estate agent in Valdosta.

Police made the arrest after a viewer saw his picture on the news in Florida and recognized him.

"Flager county got a tip from an individual who thought they knew him so the investigators brought him in for questioning," said Lowndes County Sheriff Ashley Paulk. "When they got his picture, several of the victims, including the one from Valdosta, were able to identify him in a lineup."

Investigators believe Pate robbed eight real estate agents. They've recovered some of the stolen jewelry and money.
