Albany-Two Albany residents will be in the 312 player field at the U.S. Amateur championship two weeks at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania.
Brent Dorner's two-day score of 139 was the second best in a sectional qualifier at the Cherokee Town and Country Club in Atlanta. Dorner shot a 67 yesterday and followed that up with a 72 to earn one of the five available sectional berths.
Dave Hill qualified for the U.S. Amateur over at the Auburn University Course on Monday and Tuesday.
Hill earned the second of only two spots available in that sectional qualifier with a two-day score
of 141.
The U.S. Amateur starts with two rounds of stroke play on August 18th and 19th.
The top 64 scores advance to a match play tournament with the two finalists playing 36 holes on August 24th to determine this year's U.S. Amateur Champion.
