Rams report to camp

August 5, 2003

Albany, GA.-- Although they won't hit the practice field for another two days, the Albany State Golden Rams reported to football camp this afternoon for their first meeting of the fall.

Albany State head coach Mike White introduced himself and his staff to the 80 or so players this afternoon at Peace Hall on the ASU campus.

The Golden Rams will officially kick off their practice schedule this Thursday morning at 9:30, but because of new NCAA guidelines they won't hold two-a-days until next Tuesday.

Coach White says the new guidelines are something that everyone has to deal with, and he's just excited to get back to work after a successful 7 and 4 season last year.

"We're just looking forward to the opportunity to get out there and see who has put in the work and who's ready to compete in that first game," White said.

Albany State opens up the 2003 season on August 30th at Valdosta State.
