Leesburg-- A fuzzy stuffed animal is helping Lee County first responders deal with scared children.

Boxes of cuddly moose dolls were donated to police officers, EMS workers and sheriff's deputies by the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge in Albany. These stuffed animals are a simple tool that helps calm frightened or injured children.

Lee County EMS director says, "It does, we used this to lure the baby or patient away from the mother's arms so we can treat them. Sometimes they want to cling to the mother, this kind of helps."

Three dozen stuffed animals were donated.
