Dawson- 33 year old Mark Vanzant, of Albany, hanged himself with a bed sheet Sunday.
Sheriff's officials say Vanzant's mother told them her son had made several suicide attempts before. Vanzant was in a cell by himself and made a phone call right before he committed suicide.
He was arrested Friday on charges aggravated assault with a vehicle, attempting to elude deputies, criminal trespassing, and reckless driving.
There hasn't been a suicide at the jail since 1992.
