Moultrie, GA.--The third annual Georgia/Florida Minor League Baseball reunion took place today in Moultrie. Over 40 former players and coaches attended the event, which this year included the Alabama minor league teams for the first time.
Other than posing for pictures and catching up with old teammates and friends, the players also browsed the several displays that were set up, many of which contained newspaper clippings about the leagues. The festivities wrapped up tonight with Albany resident Paul Eames serving as this year's guest speaker.
Eames played 8 years in the minor leagues, including a two year stint in Albany with the Cardinals. He says he loves coming to the reunion to see a lot of familiar faces and hear a lot of far fetched stories.
"Oh its great, as a matter of fact we have a bunch of liars that come here. They tell you things they did years ago, I had one guy today tell me he stole 76 bases and I never threw him out. I don't believe that," Eames said.
