Nashville - A former jail inmate is suing a South Georgia city and ex-police chief for one million dollars.
The Clinch County woman says former Nashville Police Chief Ira Shealy sexually abused her while she was in the city jail. She's also suing the city of Nashville since it was Shealy's employer.
The lawsuit seeks $1,000,000.00 in damages, $9,000.00 in special damages, and all court costs and attorney fees.
Shealy admitted having sex with two inmates and resigned from the police department in March 2002. He was sentenced to five years of sexual offender probation and had to to forfeit his police certification.
