Albany-- Little cottages are popping up outside Dougherty County Schools.

The tiny shelters are home to aluminum cans. It's part of a Flint River Habitat for Humanity project called "Students Can!"  Schools will compete to recycle the most cans this year. All the money raised will go toward building a new home for a family.

Habitat's AmeriCorp VISTA volunteer, Laura Rios, says, "There have been homes built entirely from aluminum can recycling in several locations. So we are really hopeful that having each school participate, with a little bit from each school we will have enough to have a house."

The winning school will have a pizza or ice cream party at the end of the year. So if you have a favorite school you can drop off your aluminum cans at their cottage!
