Albany, Ga.--After steamrolling over Albany Post 30 earlier in the day Vienna Post 202 forced the 'if necessary' game against Leesburg Post 182 in the American Legion Area baseball tournament Sunday night.
Thanks to a four run six inning, Vienna was able to get out to a comfortable lead over Leesburg and hang on for the 11-7 win. The two will meet Monday afternoon at 1 pm at the Paul Eames Sports Complex to decide the area champion.
Vienna advanced to the championship game by knocking off Albany Post 30 10-0 earlier in the day. The loss secured the third seed from the southern area for Post 30 in next week's state tournament in Douglasville. Americus Post 2 will be the fourth seed.
